We are hiring with a sign-on bonus!

10% of yearly salary will be paid out over 2 installments as a sign-on bonus (gross amount - before taxes) upon successful completion of 90 days of employment (1st installment of bonus) and 6 months after date of hire (2nd installment of bonus). Employee must be in good standing and receive a positive employee evaluation for payout.

Chef John Fraser is the accomplished restaurateur behind Manhattan's NIX and The Loyal. JF Restaurants also operates collaboratively as Food and Beverage Partner to The Times Square EDITION Hotel and the Metropolitan Museum Dining Room.

In 2019, in partnership with Ian Schrager, JF Restaurants opened The Times Square Edition and oversees all food and beverage at the new 452-room hotel in Times Square. Chef John Fraser introduces fine dining to Times Square with the newly opened 701West, nestled on the 11th Floor of The Times Square EDITION.

Recently awarded three stars by The New York Times, the three-course prix fixe and tasting menus are conceived with the extensive 700 bottle wine list in mind, brought to life with personalized selections by our team of sommeliers. The sommelier team is empowered and encouraged to match the wine to the dishes, and also work with the culinary team to have dishes altered to pair to the wine.

We are currently seeking Sommeliers and a Head Sommelier to join our wine team in 701 West with many opportunities for growth for the right candidate.

What is required:

  • Michelin Star experience and/or 3 or 4 NY Times experience highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing service in a fine dining restaurant is required. 
  • Maintain beverage programs with correct pars, stocks, and up-to-date menus. Coordinate changes with Wine and Bar Director.
  • Create bar and sommelier schedules according to labor needs and budgeted goals.
  • Review all EOs to ensure proper beverage stock and setups are in place.
  • Handling guest concerns while reacting quickly and professionally
  • Oversee beverage handling and ensure proper storage, safety and sanitation policies are being followed.
  • Training and development of beverage staff
  • Increase sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and prompt problem resolution. Exercise good judgment and decision making in escalating concerns and proactively resolving issues.
