Job Details

Critically acclaimed O Ya restaurant seeking professional line cook. Run by James Beard Award winning Chef Tim Cushman, O Ya restaurant is a chance to learn sushi and Japanese cuisine while working in a professional American kitchen.

We strive to keep a culture of collaboration and respect for our entire staff.

The ideal applicant will have: 
-1-2 years of NYC experience, culinary school a plus! 
-Ability and willingness to learn and grow

- Extensive Japanese cuisine knowledge is not required, the right applicant will be trained to work with various Japanese ingrendients, techniques, and cooking styles including: tempura, sautee, garde manger, pastry, grill, etc.

-Fine dining experience is a plus. Learn to work with small plates and composed dishes.

-Learn to break down fish from sushi chefs and learn how to make/plate nigiri and sashimi.
