We are looking for Hosts/Hostesses to join our team! 

The Host is arguably the most important position in the entire restaurant: they possess the power to control and influence the course of any service. A skilled host can sway bar service, floor service, kitchen fires and even how weeded the dish station will get based on how he or she manages from the host stand. The host has an intimate understanding of the flow of service and how to stagger seatings to optimize turns and maximize reservations while minimizing the feeling of volume on the rest of the service and kitchen teams. But most importantly, the host is the first impression of Covina on the guest.

We are looking for a warm, dynamic personality at the door who possess a genuine care for our guests and the team. OpenTable experience is encouraged, but not required. We are looking for smiling faces and genuine personalities. If that sound like you, please send us your resume.

Service Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greeting every dining room guest, bar guest and cafe guest
  • Proper reservation identification
  • Responsible for bringing all guests into the dining room
  • Starting water service
  • Communicating turn times, guest notes and all soignees to the servers, kitchen and management
  • Warmly wishing every dining room guest, bar guest and cafe guest goodbye
  • Coat Check

Knowledge Responsibilities:

  • Opentable floor management
  • Maximizing the books to increase the amount of reservations able to be taken
  • Large Party Policy 
  • Reservations
  • General Covina information
  • Caviar + Delivery orders
  • Gift Card processing
  • General menu knowledge
