Popina is a lively, fine casual restaurant in the Columbia Street Waterfront District of Cobble Hill Brooklyn. Its menu draws inspiration from the Southern United States and Italy with a focus on market ingredients and pasta.

In Popina’s short existence, it has received accolades across publications such as Bloomberg, Bon Appétit, Grub Street, and Eater. Brooklyn's own Bill Durney called Popina's cellar "the most underrated in the city."

Popina Restaurant is seeking hospitality professionals to join its dynamic service team. 

Our ideal new Sommelier has a passion for food and wine, and a desire to be surrounded by knowledable, enthusiastic hospitalitarians. Ideal candidates are looking for a professional environment that encourages education and growth. They would also agree with us on the importance of a happy work/life balance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 3 Years Beverage Experience in NYC (Preferably Fine Casual/Fine Dining)

• Strong guest relations skills & an ability to read guests

• Strong Food/Wine Knowledge & a desire to learn more

• Cocktail and Spirits Knowledge

• Ability to Multitask in High Pressure Situations

• Great Communication skills
