Job Details

The front of house manager oversees all operations at a restaurant (except for the kitchen). They shape a restaurant-goer's experience by maintaining the dining room's appearance, hiring and training quality staff, and ensuring good customer service.

The FOH Manager shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Core Values. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Achieve customer satisfaction and compliance with policies/procedures in the cafe 
  • Train, coach and assist associates in the F&B operations 
  • Monitor performance and recommend corrective action 
  • Alert management of potentially serious issues 
  • Respond to customer needs and rectify any guest issues 
  • Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of the cafe to ensure safe work environment 
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform staff of daily events 
  • Promote teamwork and quality service 
  • Routinely greet guests, serve food and beverage and service other club departments 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned. 

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education 
  • Minimum of 4 years of employment in the F&B industry 
  • Prior restaurant experience a must 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented 
  • Exceptional guest-focus 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit 
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English 
  • Must have exceptional communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written 
  • Must have basic computer skills 
  • Must have basic mathematical skill for report / forecast preparation 
  • Must be able to manage time effectively 
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Must be goal oriented 
  • Must be alert to the customers' needs 
  • Must be detail-oriented and work well under pressure 
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings, weekends and holidays 
  • Must have strong motivational and organizational skills 
  • Must have excellent listening skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

  • Must have the ability to resolve problems, conflicts in a tactful and diplomatic manner 


Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout entire shift 
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds at shoulder height and push/pull up to 75 pounds 
  • Noise level is usually moderate
