JOB DESCRIPTION—Executive Pastry Chef

As Pastry Chef, you will be working closely with Chef Adam Leonti in shared creation and guidance of theLeonti pastry program.

In addition, you will be the source of leadership and oversight within the pastry department and assume responsibility for the mentoring and guidance of your pastry cooks.  Here at Leonti we practice ongoing product/technique education and betterment as a way of life, and seek to inspire excellence in our team by actively providing that education. As such, you will be asked to bring your own existing experience to bear, combine it with everything you will learn from Chef Adam and then teach the aspiring pastry chefs under your supervision, in kind.

The position requires:

o   Monitoring seasonal choice produce availability (and the select farms that grow them) that we may incorporate the best of the moment in our pastry program.

o   Overseeing the in-house milling of grains, as Leonti’s culinary signature is closely tied with expert utilization of the grains from which we make our pastries, breads and  fresh pastas

o   In addition to other executive-level responsibilities and creative freedoms, you should also exemplify your team members’ own position requirements:

o   Experience working fast-paced services

o   Strong communication and interpersonal skills

o   Seamless multi-tasking, as certain side work and prep work are completed during services

o   Exhibiting a high level of organization and working with a sense of shared urgency

o   Always acting with effective personal time management in mind so that all tasks are completed on schedule

o   The ability to remain composed and productive under pressure 

o   The ability to meet challenges with positive, solution-minded thinking
