Tavernetta is seeking ambitious, humble and hospitable Sommeliers that are passionate about wine and service. Tavernetta is brought to you by Bobby Stuckey and the James Beard Award winning team of Frasca Food and Wine. Inspired by the food, wine and culture of Italy delivered with genuine authentic hospitality. Tavernetta brings a familiar, welcoming atmosphere to the bustling and exciting Union Station neighborhood.   


Requirements for candidates (but not limited to):

- 3+ years of experience working in similar level restaurants or higher. James Beard or Michelin Star restaurant experience is a plus.

- Must have passed/or be pursuing the Advanced Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or have an equivalent certification and/or experience/knowledge.

- Must have a willingness to learn in a fast paced, high volume environment.

- Must be a conscientious individuals that has a strong sense of teamwork and the confidence to strive to be better than the day before.

- A strong understanding of teaching and development of staff.

- Comfortable with Aloha and Bin Wise software.

- Understanding of inventory, purchasing and invoice reconciliation.

- Sommeliers are paid by-the-hour and are tipped as part of our pool.

The Sommelier will support the wine & beverage service on the floor and behind the bar and will be involved in the cellar management (inventory, organization). The Sommelier will also participate in tastings, seminars and staff training. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality – preferably fine dining restaurant, a solid understanding of the basics of the wine, spirits and beverage world and a real desire to be a part of a team committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
