We are looking for a talented Sous Chef whom shares our values and passion for the hospitality industry to join our team at Museum of Contemporary Art .

As Sous Chef you will be a valuable contributor to the successful operation of the food and beverage department, you will lead a dynamic catering team executing high end events in one of the most beautiful and unique locations in the Chicago market. Working with the Marisol restaurant team you will also be involved in one of the best new “James Beard” recognized restaurants in the country!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Menu development
  • Food purchasing
  • Supervising, teaching and training the kitchen personnel
  • Making presentations to catering clients
  • Establishing and managing food and labor cost controls to insure a profitable operation
  • Ensuring quality, consistency and creativity are at the highest level while maximizing the operation's personnel and resources

What we’re looking for:

  • Creative and innovative culinary skills
  • Experience in multiple outlets -- both ala carte and banquets
  • Good safety and sanitation habits
  • Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
  • Experience with inventory and cost controls
  • Culinary management experience
  • Good job stability and excellent, supportive references
  • Culinary degree
