Job Details
Lodge Management Group (LMG) has been the heart of Chicago’s nightlife scene since 1971. We operate 12 bar and restaurant venues located in the Gold Coast, River North, Streeterville, West Town, and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. Our venues can accommodate groups of 20 to 600 with an approachable, yet carefree atmosphere. LMG venues are known for “Where Chicago Comes to Party”.
 
Server Responsibilities:

Serves patrons by providing information to help food and beverage selections; presenting ordered choices, while providing excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction and return. Servers take drink/food orders and delivers food and beverages while creating an entertaining and fun environment for patrons. This position ensures the quality of the drink, food and overall guest experience is excellent. 

Server Job Duties:
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment
  • Perform light food preparation duties including bread, salad preparation, appetizers and dessert presentation
  • Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as outlined
  • Protect establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies (BASSET & Food Handler Certifications; any additional certifications as required)
  • Greet customers with a warm welcome and your name
  • Help guests select food/beverage by presenting menu(s); offer suggestions; explain the daily/monthly specials; answer food/beverage questions
  • Check identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Take and serve food/drink orders and up-sell and cross-sell products; check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving to guests; deliver wine to table with appropriate glasses and use proper corkage and pouring techniques
  • Check back on guests within two minutes of serving food/drink orders; communicate with guests to ensure quality satisfaction with service
  • Respond appropriately to customer complaints and bring any issues to a manager
  • Maintain table by removing empty glassware/plateware/trash; refill beverages; be alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment; returning change or credit card and signature slip to guests
  • Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; invite guests to return

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Ability to interact with guests and provide excellent customer service
  • Strong people skills
  • Problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge and passion for Chicago nightlife a plus!
  • Ability to lift/move up to 40lbs
  • Ability to stand/walk for entire shift

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have flexible/late-night/weekend availability
  • Must provide or be willing to obtain both BASSET & Food Handler certifications

Lodge Management Group Entertainment Enterprises (LMG) was founded by F. Owen McKeaney in 1971. F. Owen McKeaney helped to make the Division Street block between State and Dearborn an iconic nightlife destination when he bought his first venue, The Lodge Tavern, in 1970. His business flourished with the rise of singles bars, and the increasing array of nightlife venues along the strip became known as “Rush and Division”. When F. Owen McKeaney passed in 2001, his wife, Lyn Z. McKeaney took over LMG and has successfully contributed to her husband’s legacy in maintaining and growing the business. Today LMG operates twelve establishments, six of which are located in what was proclaimed the Division Street Entertainment District by Chicago’s City Council in 2009. The proclamation recognized the contributions of the owners, managers, and employees of the nightclub venues for their “contributions to the economic vitality and character of our great city.”

Division Street Entertainment District venues are open until 4 AM/5AM, and the area has long been the celebratory site for victorious Chicago sports teams,including the 1983 and 2005 Southside baseball championships, the legendary six
basketball world-championships, championship hockey cup celebrations, and more.
