Beetery is a fast-casual concept that offers consumers gourmet plant-forward bowls with ethnic flavor influences, unprocessed grains, vegetables and sustainable plant/animal proteins. The mission is to offer healthy menu options, control food waste, and make the food system more sustainable.

Job Brief:

This is a working executive chef position alongside staff, with a partnership potential after 1-2 years.  Strengths in plant-forward cuisine and animal protein "flip".  Must have 1-2 years of experience as sous chef or lead line position to lead a professional BOH team.  Most of the menu has been completed as business service by chefs at the Culinary Institute of America.  This opportunity is for an ambitious experienced chef with a passion for building healthy and profitable concepts.

Responsibilities:

  • Menu development 
  • Seasonal menu update
  • Coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Assist in buildling relationships with suppliers
  • Hire, train, and manage kitchen personnel
  • Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
  • Proper equipment operation and maintenance
  • Proper sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen

Qualifications:

  • Ambition and culinary skills
  • Passion for healthy concepts
  • Strong command of flavor science 
  • Current on trends in consumer tastes
  • Attention to details of food quality and preparation
  • Problem-solver
  • Team-oriented leader
  • 1-2 years as sous chef or lead line position experience preferred
  • Recent graduates must demonstrate work and leadership experience during years of study
  • Bachelor of Science degree in culinary arts or equivalent preferred
  • Languages: English, Spanish (preferred but not required)

Compensation:

Competitive base salary; benefit stipend; paid vacation.
