Chef Ford Fry’s Optimist brings a seaside fish camp experience to landlocked Atlantans. From fresh oysters from the Alabama coast and Maine sea scallops to whole roasted Georgia trout, guests enjoy super fresh, sustainably-sourced seafood from the country’s most responsible fishermen and purveyors. Tucked into an old ham aging warehouse, The Optimist serves up beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails with hickory-roasted fish and raw oysters, while beach-food classics like hush puppies and lobster rolls transport you to your favorite seaside haunts.

The Optimist is hiring a Steward/Prep Cook to join our acclaimed culinary team!

The Stewards and Prep Cooks at the Optimist are the backbone of the kitchen team – working diligently to support the culinary effort in an efficient manner during service. He/she must be able to maintain the integrity of the recipe and cleanliness of the kitchen while working in a fast-paced, exciting environment. Previous experience operating a dish machine in a high-volume restaurant is preferred.
