We are looking for a talented Executive Chef whom shares our values and passion for the hospitality industry to join our team at Marisol at Museum of Contemporary Art .

As Executive Chef you will be a valuable contributor to the successful operation of the food and beverage department and will be responsible for all aspects of managing the food production for banquets, catered events and the full service restaurant.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Menu development
  • Food purchasing
  • Supervising, teaching and training the kitchen personnel
  • Making presentations to catering clients
  • Establishing and managing food and labor cost controls to insure a profitable operation
  • Ensuring quality, consistency and creativity are at the highest level while maximizing the operation's personnel and resources

What we’re looking for:

  • Creative and innovative culinary skills
  • Experience in multiple outlets -- both ala carte and banquets
  • Good safety and sanitation habits
  • Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
  • Experience with inventory and cost controls
  • Culinary management experience
  • Good job stability and excellent, supportive references
  • Culinary degree

Marisol, the MCA Chicago's new restaurant, re-imagines the
relationship of art, food, and design, in a unique artist-created
environment. Chef Jason Hammel presents an ever-changing, hyper-seasonal menu filled with vibrant, playful, and contemporary flavors that match its surroundings. Named for its muse Marisol, the spirited 1960s French/Venezuelan artist, and inspired by renowned artist Chris Ofili's immersive art environment, the new restaurant is a welcoming place to meet and dine, or just plug-in. This lively neighborhood restaurant features lunch, and dinner daily, as well as weekend brunch, in a shared plates format. The beverage program includes a large selection of food-friendly natural wines along with one of Chicago's deepest vermouth and aperitif lists, complementing the lighter palette. Marisol opens in the summer of 2017 on the street level of the MCA.
