Job Details

This is a unique opportunity to oversee both a full service restaurant and fast casual concept within the same location. Please find further details regarding the role and responsibilies of the position below:

POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations & Chief Operations Officer 

SUPERVISES: Directly responsible for supervision and management of all management and hourly staff (including culinary)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and leads full scope of restaurant operations in accordance with the company mission statement and values, including oversight of culinary operations from a financial and quality perspective; participates in service operations (ie: expediting, bussing, hosting) as necessary
  • Leads, supervises and participates in the development of the management team
  • Develops and drives guest relationship building and adherence to service standards, including staff training programs
  • Develops and drives all revenues and sales capacities to meet all financial projections
  • Manages, monitors and analyzes daily P&L and directs needed changes to operations
  • Directs the hiring of all hourly staff; coordinates the hiring of management staff in coordination with the Executive Chef and CMCI
  • Conducts regular management meetings with restaurant and/or CMCI teams
  • Directs monthly inventory activities to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Oversees property and equipment maintenance/repair functions
  • Primary liaison for marketing, public relations and promotional events and activities, in coordination with the Director of Marketing & PR

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of prior GM-level experience OR 5+ years of prior AGM-level experience at a restaurant similar in scope/style to the appropriate CMCI restaurant (NOTE: Positions in restaurants with high volume may require additional experience)
  • Excellent overall food & beverage knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated skill in general steps of service
  • Strong knowledge of general restaurant financials
  • Strong working knowledge & skill in Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Strong working knowledge & skill in POS systems

  • Proactiveness – takes initiative, “can do” attitude, excellent organizational skills
  • Effective communication – excellent verbal/written skills, excellent listening skills
  • Team focus – can work with others to accomplish goals, what level collaboration skills, proven ability to lead and manage teams
