Come be a part of the team at a new restaurant coming soon to Rittenhouse Square. Spice Finch is inspired by the distinctive flavor profiles of the nations bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Chef Jennifer Carroll has created a bold seasonally accurate menu featuring an array of small plates, vegetables, grilled meats and fish. We are looking to add a Sous Chef to our opening managment team, the ideal candidate would be professional, committed, passionate about cuisine and ingredients, organized, people oriented, have leadership qualities and a desire to succeed. The opportunity:  Sous Chef-  The purpose of this position is to support the Executive Chef to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations from cooking, production, quality control and sanitation. We offer great opportunities to build and grow into a professional culinary expert while maintaining friendly and enjoyable work environments. 


  • Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
  • Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely and efficient manner that meets our quality standards
  • Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers


  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Ability to manage a staff of up to 25 individuals
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry’s sanitation and safety standards
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Degree in Culinary arts or related certificate would be a plus
