Job Details

Twain, a new restaurant in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, is currently seeking applicants for a Sous Chef position. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years of experience as a kitchen manager, be organized and on time, and have real passion for working in hospitality. While you must be open to learning in all sectors of service we are looking for someone who will work with us to establish a positive and caring culture and become a leader and mentor to the staff. Your experience and responsibilities should include:
-- familiarity of all common kitchen stations
-- experience with Microsoft Office programs 
-- a grasp of food and beverage knowledge 
-- some knowledge of wine, beer and spirits 
-- maintaining a polished, professional, warm and hospitable attitude 
-- hiring and training BOH staff

-- daily financial procedures

-- coaching and mentoring the line staff, which also entails documenting successes and challenges

-- execution of on and offsite special events

-- conducting inspired pre-shift meetings for staff

-- staff and management evaluations

-- maintaining established cost and labor goals.
