Izakaya Mita is a Michelin Guide Recommended Japanese Bar and Grill featuring small plates and a Bincho-tan (Japanese hardwood charcoal) Yakitori/Kushiyaki Grill. Showcasing Japanese beers on draft and a wide selection of Sake and shochu, Izakaya Mita is a casual / upscale casual restaurant looking for enthusiastic and friendly team members eager to learn, communicate, and provide exceptional customer service for a unique Japanese-American take on this traditional Japanese "Pub" concept.The ability to speak Japanese is a plus, but not necessary. Previous experience in Japanese cuisine is a plus, but not required. Interest in Japanese food, beverage or culture is ideal.Ideal candidates will possess excellent customer service skills, top of the line multitasking, and the ability to communicate our Japanese menu to customers. Knowledge of Sake and Shochu brands a plus, but a passion for learning is essential. Previous experience selling wine or beer a plus, but not necessary. Enthusiasm for introducing Chicago to a nascent style of japanese cuisine and culture a must!
