In 1919, when Italian immigrant Annibale Giovanni Ferrari hungered for the foods of his childhood, he set up shop importing specialty items that could only be found in traditional Italian alimentari and introduced them to the eager appetites of the Bay Area. These rare, hard-to-find flavors and his larger than life zest for Italian culture and tradition eventually made A.G. Ferrari into a neighborhood icon.
Today, our A.G. Ferrari Market Cafés keep that spirit alive by continuing to bring epicurean treasures from both Italy and the Bay Area to our customers. We trek through the varied regions of Italy, seeking products we know will delight and inspire. From Tuscan Kale Pesto to Sicilian Pistachio Cream, from Italian wine varietals selected by a respected SF sommelier to Italian Lemon Butterhorns made right here in the Bay Area—we source and gather an array of specialty foods that’s irresistible and impossible to find anywhere else.
Along the way, when we discover producers who are especially passionate about their craft, we often collaborate with them to create something unique under our name. When you see an A.G. Ferrari label on anything—from pasta to sauces to coffee—you'll know it’s one of our labors of love.
