Job Details

DIZENGOFF, a traditional Israeli-style hummusiya in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, is seeking a dishwasher!

Candidates must be able to work a three compartment sink and dishwasher properly. Able to complete daily maintenance with no complaints and small prep work from time to time.

Dishwashers are expected to receive and organize daily deliveries, maintain the walk-in and dry storage inventories, be responsible for deep cleaning and maintaining a clean kitchen at all times, as well as washing dishes for service and pots and pans during kitchen prep.

Candidates must be fired-up and demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and take critical feedback.
Dizengoff has a very high standard in regards to work ethic and the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.

The team at Dizengoff provides an always-fresh, satisfying meal for every slice of society. The menu at Dizengoff changes daily and with the season, centered around Middle Eastern hummus platters with a focus on vegetable toppings and fresh-baked pita made on-site in an open kitchen.

Dizengoff was founded in Philadelphia in the Summer of 2014, built from the popularity and admiration for the hummus at Zahav, the pioneering Israeli restaurant from multiple James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs, Chef Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook. Over the past 10 years of Zahav, the restaurant has arguably put Israeli cooking on-the-map in the US.

Sister restaurants along with Zahav, include Federal Donuts, Goldie, Abe Fisher, and K'Far, as well as forthcoming Laser Wolf and Merkaz all in Philadelphia.

A minimum of 1 year experience is required. Apply today!

Casual Dining

Part of CookNSolo Restaurants

Named for one of Tel Aviv’s most iconic streets, Dizengoff first landed stateside in Philadelphia over the summer of 2014. Modeled on the hummus stalls (“hummusiya”) found around every corner of Israel, Dizengoff — co-owned by Chef Mike Solomonov and Steve Cook of CookNSolo Restaurants — helped to popularize Israeli-style Hummus as a complete and satisfying meal.

After closing for expansion in August of 2023, Dizengoff re-opened in January of 2024 as a full-service restaurant with 95 seats that include a bar (plus an extended sidewalk cafe in the warmer months). Offering both lunch and dinner, the nightly menu remains centered around Hummus Bowls with house-baked Pita, with a focus on classic toppings (like Hummus Yerushalmi –– ground beef with baharat, and pine nuts). Other menu highlights are Pita Sandwiches, Mezze Salads, and Entrees, including Crispy Falafel-battered Whole Fish with cabbage and amba, and Lamb Neck with grape molasses.

Dizengoff is a founding part of CookNSolo Restaurants, a portfolio of Israeli-inspired hospitality concepts all in Philadelphia. CookNSolo is most widely-recognized for Zahav.
